Snowbound Twilight

Snowbound Twilight runs on contrast of temperature more than contrast of value — the indigo and slate blues sit firmly on the cold side, while the single rose tone works against them like a held breath of warmth. That tension is what keeps the set from reading as merely wintry; it has a touch of melancholy romance to it, the kind of mood you get standing outside right as streetlights start to flicker on. Nothing in the five colors is fully saturated, which keeps the whole thing feeling hushed rather than dramatic. Even the lightest tone, Frostlight, carries a blue cast instead of going neutral, so the palette never loses its evening chill.
