Chili Mango Palette
Chili and mango share one of the great color progressions in tropical cuisine: from the near-black red of a dried ancho through the vivid red of a fresh ripe chili, through the deep flame orange where the two fruits' colors seem to overlap, into the warm flesh-orange of a perfectly ripe mango, and finally to the golden yellow of mango skin catching full equatorial sun. This tight, five-step gradient from dark chili red to sunny yellow is one of the most emotionally evocative warm-color progressions available — vivid, edible, and associated simultaneously with heat and sweetness.
Dark Chili is an exceptional dark color — not quite black, not quite brown, but unmistakably red in its warm undertone history. It serves excellently as a deep background value in warm-palette UI work or as an unexpected alternative to standard charcoal in packaging design. Against it, Chili Red reads with maximum energy. Flame Orange is the bridge: a color that could claim allegiance to either end of the palette but actually serves the transit between them. Without Flame Orange, the jump from Chili Red to Mango Orange would be the palette's weak point; with it, the gradient feels inevitable.

Mango Orange and Sunny Yellow are the palette's sweetness values — the colors that give Chili Mango its approachability and warmth. Used only with Dark Chili and Chili Red, this palette would read as aggressive and fiery in a challenging way; the mango tones transform it into something simultaneously spiced and inviting, balancing the heat with the sweetness that makes the combination so compelling in both cuisine and color.
Chili Mango suits hot sauce and spice brands, tropical fruit products and beverage packaging, Mexican and South Asian food and restaurant branding, summer food festival and market identities, cooking shows and culinary media, athletic and outdoor brands wanting fiery energy without a blue or green inflection, fall seasonal campaigns where warm drama is more appropriate than standard autumnal browns, and bold UI work that needs a warm color system with strong value contrast.
