A wood fire contains every value from near-black to brilliant orange-yellow in the space of a few inches — from the charred remains at the base that have given all their heat, through the red-orange of active embers, to the vivid flame zone where temperature is highest and color is most saturated, to the pale smoke that drifts up and away. Campfire extracts these six specific tones as a design palette: not a simplified fire illustration palette, but the precise, observational colors that a photographer or painter would identify from extended study of firelight.

Charred is near-black with enough warmth to prevent it reading as neutral — the color of completely combusted wood material. Ash steps warm and slightly lighter, containing the specific red-brown gray that burnt wood creates. These two dark tones are practically useful as alternatives to black and charcoal in warm-register design systems — they carry inherent associations with fire and warmth without being red enough to read as colored rather than dark-neutral.

Deep Ember is one of the most evocative single colors in the natural world — the specific deep red-orange of a glowing coal that is still intensely hot, its color the visual expression of heat just below the visible ignition point. Flame is the active fire color at peak intensity — vivid enough to be unmistakably fire, at the orange-red boundary rather than the pure red of blood or garnet. Orange Flame shifts toward yellow-orange at the flame tip, where complete combustion produces the hottest and most orange-yellow visible light. Smoke provides the essential neutralizing element — without the pale, warm neutral of Smoke, the palette would be too concentrated in the warm chromatic range to function as a complete design system.

Campfire supports outdoor and wilderness brands, camping and hiking equipment design, BBQ and fire-food marketing, autumn seasonal campaigns, rustic restaurant and hospitality identity, fireside home goods, and warmth-focused design contexts ranging from holiday greeting materials to premium whisky branding.
